5 WAYS TO INSPIRE YOUR WORKFORCE

Are your team lacking their pizzazz? Are their inspiration tanks running a little low? Here are 5 simple ways to get your team out of their rut and back to being inspired and motivated about work.

It’s natural for our inspiration to work hard to ebb and flow a bit - I mean, we can’t always be on it. But if you’ve noticed your team has been stuck in a rut for a while, perhaps it’s time to rethink a few things.

We’ve hit that time of the year where many of us feel a bit sluggish, have let our good habits slip a little and are lacking our usual spark to get stuck into work.

The weather is too good to miss, there’s more temptation to forego the gym and socialise (most likely over a drink or two).

In order to feel inspired and creative, we need to make sure our well-being needs are met. That means getting enough sleep, eating well and taking regular intentional breaks throughout the day to reset.

Here are 5 ways you can inspire your workforce to work and be better.

Encourage your team to monotask

It’s easy to get inundated with tasks and try to do them all at once. But not only will this reduce their efficiency in getting things done, but it will also mean that their mind is so stretched that they lack the capacity to be inspired by their projects. Lead by example, and encourage your team to monotask. Whether that means putting less on their plates, or being clearer on what takes priority, give the team space to focus on one task, do it well, then move onto the next.

Corporate wellbeing starts from the top, so set the tone for the office and you’ll have a team that not only works hard for you, but stays loyal to the company.

Acknowledge the little things, not just the big wins

What goes far in making your team feel like their wellbeing is truly supported is meaningful encouragement.

The big wins are of course important, but the everyday little successes are just as worthy of attention and acknowledgment. Make sure your employees know on a day-to-day basis that their work is appreciated and valued.

Finding joy in the little things may not seem like much, but in the end it all adds up. These small moments will inspire your workforce to keep moving forwards.

Regular, meaningful check ins

Employees want to feel as if they are truly heard and understood. When you have your daily/weekly check ins, don’t just ask what’s on their work agenda. Take the time to get to know them for them. If they feel like their leaders have their best interests at heart, they will feel more compelled to do more for your company.

If there’s one thing we’ve learnt over the past year, it’s that many of the thousand meetings we have at work can easily be distilled down into an email or a quickfire phone call. If you start to free up more time during the day for your employees to get on with their work, there’ll also be more time for you to properly check in with how they’re doing.

Spark some healthy challenge in your workforce

A little competition never hurt nobody. One great way to get your workforce energised and revved up is to set a little healthy challenge - whether it’s a daily movement target, a competition to see who can get the longest streak of meditation or a full-blown month of wellbeing events with a prize for top participation.

Our 5-day meditation challenges have been so popular amongst our clients - and we’ve found that even those who haven’t meditated before have taken part and enjoyed it being part of their weekly wellbeing practice.

Boost your company meetings with mindfulness - try 15 minutes of desk yoga!

When we feel like we’re stuck in a rut, a great way to get the inspiration flowing is to move our bodies.

Getting some movement into your day doesn’t need to be a grandiose thing - nor does it require you to put on lycra! We are all about the shorter, accessible ways to move our bodies and calm our minds. Desk yoga is the perfect tonic for those with limited time and not a lot of space to roll out a mat - you’d be surprised how much can be done at your desk. Whether you want to focus on posture, relieving back pain or simply to boost your team’s morale, we can really tailor the session.

If you want to level up your next company meeting with a dose of mindful movement, let us know and we can cook up something magical for you. Just email hello@theyehyoga.co and we’ll work our magic.
