Why Wellness?
Your team’s time is valuable, which is exactly why workplace wellness is essential.
We understand your concerns… and we know your excuses! Has someone resisted bringing in activities for your team’s wellbeing?
“We don’t have enough time in the day…”
”We don’t have enough space for yoga…”
”We don’t have the budget…”
”How is breathing and sitting actually going to benefit our team?”
“But we can’t touch our toes!”
From improving employee loyalty and reducing staff turnover, to increased focus, productivity and happiness levels, yoga and wellbeing activities have been proven to help improve company cultures and individual wellbeing (physical, mental and emotional), so let us share with you the science behind why it’s time to buck the status quo of how your team’s week should look.
The Benefits
Mental health issues, loneliness, obesity, fatigue, demotivation – these are just a few of the challenges the people of today’s society face. No matter how talented or determined people may be, we all struggle with at least one of these challenges from time to time. Plus, the host of (mis-) information out there on the world of wellness can be overwhelming.
Yoga and other wellbeing activities have been found to help reduce staff turnover, increase employees’s focus, productivity and happiness , while also breaking down inter-departmental barriers and creating a community, overall improving employee loyalty. Workplace Wellness programmes have been strongly recommended by Public Health England
The Power of Meditation
Meditation comes in many shapes and sizes, but is essentially: a way of training awareness to find a state of clarity and calm.
On a neurological level, Meditation has been proven to improve attention span, emotional stability, and self-awareness. The anterior cingulate cortex (the part of your brain that manages your attention span!) lights up during Meditation, training your brain to tap into higher levels of focus [1].
How Yoga Transforms Us
Yoga has been around for over 3,000 years, so it must be doing something right!
The word Yoga means “to yoke,” referring to a union of body and mind. Not only has Yoga proven to improve physical fitness, strength and flexibility, and breath capacity, but it also protects the body from developing conditions like arthritis, osteoporosis, and back issues/injuries [2].
Research shows that consistent Yoga practice boosts serotonin and combats depression [3], while lowering stress levels and fighting anxiety [4].
We’ve all, at some point, worked in an office. Sat for hours at your desk, hunched over your computer like a croissant, pounding the coffees just to get through and leaving feeling totally meh. Having been through it ourselves and hearing countless others say how much office life was affecting their posture, sleep, mood and physical health we thought it was time to change the record.
We empower over-worked and stressed out workers to take back control of their well-being. We now have worked with hundreds of clients globally, from law firms to creative agencies and everything in between.
Now we get that yoga isn’t everyone’s cup of tea - so we’ve rounded up the troops and secured some of the best fitness and Pilates instructors as well as some incredible sound healers.
So the question is…are you ready to finally get your team feeling epic again?
Book in a 5-10 minute wellness discovery call and we’ll cook up something great for you!
